You're SO Away

If you're looking for anonymity, it stands to reason that you could go far, far away. Or, you could hole up in one of those 'urban retreats' that promise to incubate you from the stresses and smells of the city.
We like the first option.
Allow us to introduce Acajou, a small hotel comprising five eco-friendly cottages, on the north coast of Trinidad. Nestled in the small fishing village of Grande Riviere, Toco (the ne plus ultra of far, far away), consider Acajou the perfect spot to retreat, recharge, and re-copulate as much as you'd like. Each cottage is modeled after Asian architecture, with a private sun deck, views of the river and enough bamboo to make your own raft (but only if you really want to).
A walk down to the beach isn't a bad idea – Grande Riviere beach is one of the nesting sites for leatherback turtles – as long as you grab a lounge chair and a drink from the bar to keep you company. And if you are feeling a little eco-friendly, bird watching (the animal kind) and hiking is up for grabs.
Bird watching on the beach or bird watching in the jungle... tough call.
