As Trinidad Carnival gets underway, the steelbands shall not be forgotten in the melee of pretty mas and all-inclusive fetes.

The 2010 Panorama Small and Medium Conventional Band preliminaries for the Northern Region will be staged tomorrow at the Lord Kitchener Stand, South Quay in Port of Spain, Trinidad.  And with Blue Diamonds performing the Mighty Sparrow's 'Lying Excuses' as they kick off the competition in the small bands category, the George Street, Port of Spain troupe is going up against St. James All Stars, the Codrington Pan Family, and Merrytones.  Admission is $50.00 and the event starts at 1:00pm.
