Our Kind of Hill

You’re not one to shy away from a good shenanigan or two.  And since your last stay-to-get-away moment was so eventful (it’s really sad what happened to that chaise), we’re thinking it’s time you took your rock star lifestyle on the road.

Better yet, off-road:  about 3100 feet above sea level to be exact.  We’re talking about Strawberry Hill, a hotel and spa (aka the place taking reservations now for all manner of debauchery) set primly atop Jamaica’s Blue Mountains.  You’ll find the exclusive getaway in Irishtown, to the north of Kingston; and although its infinity pool and fireside bar are both a far cry from Strawberry Hill’s coffee plantation origins, we’re guessing you won’t be complaining.

With a musical history as detailed as the fretwork (think: guests of yore like the Rolling Stones, U2 and the late Bob Marley), Strawberry Hill has everything you need to make your wildest dreams come true – as long as your wildest dreams don’t include a beach.  Of the 12 Georgian-styled cottages on the remote plantation, you’ll want to head to Highgate.  Its décor alludes to sensuality and desire – features we’re sure you’ll agree will come in handy towards the darker part of the evening.  The hand-glazed tiles, sprawling botanical gardens, and deep-set bathtubs that can easily fit three (you’ll see…), offer a certain whimsy that is conveniently matched by the estate having the best spa in Jamaica and a bar named the Bamboo Room, serving copious amounts of your favourite libations.

You might stay awhile.
