More Airplay, says Impulse

More Airplay, says Impulse

Posted by The Editor on Tue, Jan 26th 2010, 02:10

The Impulse Connection is a five-year old group of soca artistes, comprising Ninjitsu (the artist formerly known as Ninjai), Clint Davis, Silver, Chris Garcia, Snakey, 15-year old Kizzy, Sweet Jean and the Dancing Puppet, and its namesake, Impulse himself.  And we're having a hard time understanding exactly why they're not getting much airplay.

Impulse said, "the DJs aren't playing songs, they're playing names," referring to the age-old cry of struggling artistes that their music is not being heard.  Settling instead for lounge and bar gigs across the country, the Impulse Connection continues to roll with the punches.  Ninjitsu, a former Asylum band member, said he has been approached to perform at the less... prominent all-inclusive events, to perform his 2010 track Undercover Police.

In a separate report, we've learned that the Dancing Puppet, however, may seek to branch out on his own.
