Macka Ruffin Returns

Macka Ruffin Returns

Posted by The Editor on Tue, Jan 26th 2010, 11:40

Reggae artist Macka Ruffin visited Jamaica recently to record tracks for his new album 'Dear Jah', which is set for release later this year.  The singer, real name David McAnuff, is the younger brother of Winston 'Electric Dread' McAnuff (popular across Europe and Japan), and was as excited to record in Jamaica as he is to release his sixth studio album.

Following his brother's path into the industry, the Manchester-born (but Jamaican-accented) Macka Ruffin has a studio in Tokyo, where he has lived for over 20 years, and produces Japanese and Jamaican acts.  The former drummer with the Black Kush show band, McAnuff informed that the up-tempo 'Girls Love to Dance' may be the first track off his new album.
