Nightlife marauding is seriously hard work – but you already know this.  And, even during Trinidad Carnival, there are times when you’re dangerously uncertain about what the night has to offer.  We’re touched that you came to us…

 

We’re equally affected by Aura, the (relatively) new lounge on Port of Spain’s Cipriani Boulevard.  And you should be, too.  Aura has very nicely transformed the former Tony Roma’s locale into an upscale lounge in praxis.  Trust us, it is the temple of the lounge religion, and you’re a believer.

 

Slip through the mob out front, and make your way inside to the cavernous lounge.  Free from the typically ornate decorative encumbrances, Aura opted instead for a gracefully spare, breezy décor, with mood-lit, wooden interior – complete with polished beams running across the ceiling (that might come in handy later), tables for lunching, and white circular banquettes.  Think: Setai meets spa.  On a regular night, you’ll find the usual mob of trendy, young professionals, fashionistas and socialites scarfing down Aura’s signature fresh fruit cocktails and luxe appetisers. The best part is, you won’t have to leave your debaucherous ways at the door (but you may have to tuck in your shirt).

Tonight, Aura’s teaming up with the 51º club for its Carnival shindig Double Vision, an all-inclusive melee of premium drinks, food and revelry.  Good luck trying to keep your shirt on.
