Existence, from Jimmy Cliff

Existence, from Jimmy Cliff

Posted by The Editor on Fri, Jan 22nd 2010, 15:44

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff is just about ready to release his latest CD, Existence.

Existence is the classic reggae album - it talks about everything.  Literally no topic goes untouched as Cliff sings about greed, poverty, love, global warming, war and human relationships.  We're told by sources that a tribute track to PETA had to be shelved due to overcrowding.  Production on Existence is almost complete, with Cliff being the sole singer on the 15-track project (13 of which are new songs).  The title track (Existence) is repeated five times; each time with a different musical intro.

Cliff will embark on a tour of Europe and North America in July and August of this year, bringing along with him a few young Jamaican musicians who have apparently made an impression on the living legend during recording.
