Ascots = Serious

Dining is something to take seriously. Like, English-dinner-party type seriously...
And although you might be in Bermuda having tons of skimpily-clad fun, we managed to identify an option for the one serious dining moment that's sure to come. Hint: it'll be somewhere in between the martinis at the pool and the tequila shots at Level Nightclub.
There's no better place to wedge between those two experiences than Ascots, a fine dining homage to England just outside of Bermuda's downtown Hamilton area. Set at the end of a country lane, is a former mansion built in 1903. Inside, the dining room is outfitted with antique porcelain, Queen Anne armchairs and Welsh pine, which, like your conveniently identified Welsh date, just happens to add a certain elegance to the evening.
Weather permitting, you'll have your meal under a canopy on the terrace, where you and your date can discuss serious vacation topics, like the merits of a Brazilian wax. And since that conversation has the potential to work up a serious appetite, settle in for creative dishes like the chilled banana soup, served with Black Rum and toasted almonds, or the grilled Mahi Mahi offered up with a timbale of tomato and cilantro couscous, a mustard seed citrus sauce and garnished with fried spring onions. We're leaning a lot these days toward the Honey Raspberry Duck of Windsor – we can't explain why.
And, of course, the after-dinner cedar bar...
